Hi, I'm Luna, the creator of Reverence.

For as long as I can remember, music has been a fundamental part of my life. I grew up in a house where music was always played in one way or another. My parents had so many records and I was taught at a young age, how to play them and how to appreciate them. My father always had to have the best of the best sound systems and they were used every day by the entire family. My cousins would come to visit nearly every weekend and we would play around with my cassette player in my room. We would tape our favourite tunes from the radio and record ourselves like disc jockeys to go with the music. It’s one of my fondest memories from my childhood.

My brother, who is 12 years older than me, was in a band and he’d always be playing his guitar in his room. I was mesmerised by his music. It was different to New Kids on the Block and Madonna who were my favourite artists at the time. He listened to, and played metal music with heavy guitars, chunky bass, and killer drumbeats. I loved the heavy sound and when I was 8, I was given the opportunity to buy my first cassette. I chose David Lee Roth ‘Crazy from the heat’ EP. David Lee Roth was the frontman for Van Halen, and this was his attempt at a solo career. Every time I was given money, it would go to cassette tapes, I still listened to Madonna and New Kids on the Block, but my music repertoire was changing, and I was loving metal music.

Fast forward 30 odd years and here I am with a major eclectic musical taste. I listen to Rock, Metal, Metalcore, RnB, Hip Hop, and Pop music and that’s where Reverence has gotten its tagline, “from Rock to Hip Hop”. Reverence is a blog that concentrates on new and up and coming artists whether they be established independent artists or brand newbies, from all genres in Australia.
